This time we welcome Patrice, getting comfy in room 23.

Patrice came in touch with electronic music via his uncle, who was travelling around clubs like Wolke (a former club in Patrice’s home area Kyffhäuserkreis), Berghain, Tresor and Watergate in the 90s/00s.

Being inspired by the music and its culture, he decides to become a DJ. He is active in the area of Kyffhäuserkreis and is planning to start a new collective called ‚Kollektiv 20/20‘ in near future.

It’s time for another episode of our HiHat Radio. Today Jotel California checks into Room 22. with a live-set. He started his music career under the alias ioth. Listening to Berlin techno music, he realized that that the sound was quite saturated. So he began exploring more breakbeat, melodic and hip hop music and his new project called Jotel California was born. Look forward to a journey through some fresh sounds and enjoy the ride.

DJ and producer from Marseille, Denyl Brook took his first steps in DJing at the
age of 17, it was quite naturally that he started a few years later in music
production.
Inspired by artists ranging from Paul Johnson to Daft Punk, Denyl Brook
combines in his productions a raw house with funky and catchy sounds.
In 2019, Denyl signed his first EPs on Hopera Records, Black Jack Records and White Deer.

Johannes und Linos machen es sich im Room No. 17 des HiHat Hotels gemütlich. Die beiden sind bereits seit längerer Zeit Weggefährten und enge Freunde. Aktiv sind sie in dem Kollektiv Musa Nova und setzen sich dabei mit den Themen Kunst, Musik und den sozialen Zusammenhängen auseinander. Das Kollektiv versucht durch ihre Arbeit so viel es geht zu spenden und Leute zu unterstützen. Props gehen raus an euch Musa Nova!

Johannes and Linos make themselves comfortable in Room No. 17 of the HiHat Hotel. The two have been companions and close friends for some time. #016 w/ Funky Al

In Room No. 16 des HiHat Hotels checkt Funky Al ein. Er organisiert die Boogie Down Lindenau Parties im Leipziger Westen seit ein paar Jahren, wo diverse Tanzmusik, von Funk über Electro bis Ghettohouse / Footwork gespielt wird. Funky Al legt selber auch so diverses Zeug auf und kombiniert in seinen Sets gerne verschiedenste Stile – alles mit Platte.
Im diesem Jahr soll von Boogie Down Lindenau auch eine EP veröffentlicht werden.

Funky Al checks in Room No. 16 of the HiHat Hotel. He organizes the boogie down Lindenau parties in the west of Leipzig for a couple of years, where various dance music, from funk to electro to ghetto house / footwork is played. Funky Al also puts on such diverse stuff and in his sets he likes to combine different styles – all with vinyl.
Boogie Down Lindenau is also planning to release an EP next year. In addition, Funky Al participates in the Letters From Leipzig radio show on Soho Radio London and is active in the IG Funk & Soul.

Max (Italy), alias Massimo Pozzi, wurde am 29. Oktober 1989 in Domodossola geboren. Mit 17 Jahren begann er aus Spaß mit dem DJing auf lokalen Partys. Je älter er wurde, desto mehr faszinierte ihn die Welt der elektronischen Musik, die auch bald zu einer Vollzeit-Leidenschaft heranwuchs, inspiriert von Klängen aus den Bereichen House, Tech House und Minimal. Durch Reisen zu europäischen Festivals lernte er Künstler wie Luciano, Loco Dice und Ricardo Villalobos zu schätzen.
Sein Sound ist eine Mischung aus House und Deep Techno, geprägt von schneller und rhythmischer Percussion und ein schwerer düsterer Bass.

Max (Italy), a.k.a Massimo Pozzi, was born on October 29, 1989 in
Domodossola. He started disc jockeying for fun at the age of 17, at local parties. Growing up he got more and more fascinated by the world of electronic music which soon became a full time passion, leading him to the sounds of House, Tech House and Minimal. Travelling around european festivals made him appreciate artists such as Luciano, Loco Dice and Ricardo Villalobos. Der in Tel Aviv ansässige Beatmaker, DJ und Produzent Omer Luz, ist bekannt für seine Grooves und hippen Beats. Seine musikalischen Grundlagen liegen im traditionellen Jazz, am Keyboard. Dazu verbrachte er seine Freizeit damit, seine Turntablism- und DJ-Künste immer weiterzuentwickeln.

Die einzigartige Klangunterschrift von Spacey ist das Ergebnis dieser Kombination von Genres. In seinen Arbeiten untersucht er die Beziehungen zwischen Audioelementen und visueller Ästhetik.

Spacey ist auch Teil von – CHOKE – The Beat Orchestra. Eine Gruppe von 3 Beatmakern, die Live-Beats kombinieren.

The Tel Aviv-based beatmaker, DJ and producer Omer Luz, is known for his grooves and hip beats. His musical basics lie in traditional jazz, on the keyboard. He also spent his free time developing his turntablist and DJ skills.

Spacey’s unique sound signature is a result of combination of flavours. His works explore the relations between audio elements and visual aesthetics.

HiHat Hotel Room No. 010!
Im Jahr 2007 feiert TribAdvisor sein Debüt an den Decks. Damals noch in der Altmark. Durch sein Wirken in vielen Kollektiven ist TribAdvisors Stil breit gefächert und bedient sich aus den Genres Techno (Chigago/Detroit), Dubstep und Ambient.
Seine derzeitigen Projekte sind das Kollektiv DV (Dunkle Vorahnung) und der gemeinnützige Verein RFF (Raum für Faszination).

Nach mehreren Treffen im Sommer 2019 hat er sich HiHat Hotel angeschlossen und bringt sich enorm in anstehende Projekte ein. Dabei bleibt für ihn immer eins klar:
„Musik ist die große Leidenschaft!“
